The Social Studies Curriculums grades four through eight is centered on a few core principles. These include; teaching in-depth material, developing strong academic skills, relating historical content to current issues, enhancing reading, writing, speaking, and research skills, and promoting active citizenship.

7th Grade

The seventh grade curriculum provides students with a study of the history of Western Civilizations from the beginning of Rome to the fall of Napoleon. In addition, integrated throughout the course are world geography and a current events component. The students acquire skills that enable them to effectively utilize maps, graphs, and other tools associated with geography. Students also make links between contemporary issues of European Civilization through current events. Skills needed to become life-long learners, critical thinkers, and effective researchers are stressed in all units.
