It needs to develop the essential skill of critical thinking and the ability to see American History in terms of its relation to other social sciences and other curricular areas. The content of the course spans American History from the first colonial settlements to the end of the Reconstruction Era. Particular attention is placed upon the development of United States Government and the democratic process. Also, there will be current events presented that will link with events being studied.
