This week, one of our own, Ms. Harris, traded her Lower Moreland Lion pride for the Nittany Lion spirit at Penn State!
She attended the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA) Conference, where she presented on the vital topic: "From Compassion to Companioning: Understanding Children's Grief and Loss."
Her presentation will help other school counselors across the state learn the best ways to support grieving students in their communities. We are so proud of her dedication and expertise!

Dear Murray Avenue School Students and Families,
As we head into the upcoming Thanksgiving Recess, I would like to send a warm and heartfelt message to each of you from the entire school staff.
This time of year is a beautiful reminder to pause, reflect, and appreciate the many good things in our lives. We are incredibly thankful for our bright, energetic students, our dedicated faculty and staff, and the supportive, involved families who make our school community so strong.
We encourage all of our students and families to use the Thanksgiving Break as a special time to recharge and reconnect.
Take time for genuine family togetherness—whether that means cooking a meal, playing a game, going for a walk, or simply relaxing side by side.
Share what you are grateful for. It’s a wonderful habit to instill in our young learners, and there is always something to appreciate!
Put away the screens and embrace the joy of the moment and the people around you.
We wish you a break filled with laughter, delicious food, and wonderful memories. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school, refreshed and ready for an exciting final push of the calendar year!
Have a safe, restful, and very happy Thanksgiving!
Warmly,
Mr. Stroup

Unity Day is an opportunity to come together and show that we are united against bullying. The Murray Avenue commUNITY is wearing orange today to show a visible message of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. This is one of the several activities we are doing during National Bullying Prevention Month. Students are talking about teamwork and what it means to be united today, creating a unity chain in which they commit to sharing kindness in our school, and learning about how we strive to be a place that is No Place for Hate!
